current favs feb 2016

i'm posting this early because work and school are my life. i also have a cold and want more sleep. that's beside the point.

|BEAUTY|
revlon colorstay foundation ivory- i have the normal/dry skin version and it's pretty nice. it matches my skintone without having me adjust it. it can wear throughout the day if i'm at school/work for 10+ hours, but all of mine do that. the only problem is that it stains brushes and doesn't want to come out fully. washing my brushes was a pain >.<

|NON BEAUTY|
the hobbit-i finished the book on my kindle and i enjoyed it. at some point i'll see the movies. more on the bottom page, since not everyone may have read it.

|FAIL|irish mud mask-i tried one on my day off for my 'spa day' and i left it on my face for 10 mins. i used my eco sponge to get it off like my other clay/mud masks. there was black holes in my pores! when i do a mask, nothing has been trapped in my pores before. it gave my face a darker tint, which is not what i'm looking for (i just want to be a pale vampire creature). it was gross.

this is short because i've been wearing simple makeup and not doing much but school/work. i am getting to experiment more in time.

~SPOILERS~
my only problem with the book is that gandalf was missing for 80%. what was he doing? you don't find out until the fellowship of the ring (currently reading), but still. YOU CAN'T LEAVE 12 DWARVES AND A HOBBIT ALONE TO FIGHT A DAMN DRAGON!!!!

mask maven feb 2016

it's late at night after work and i wasn't home all day, so surprise in the mail. i didn't get a tracking so i had no idea it was coming. i'm doing another face mask while typing, which seems redundant :/.

this months theme is about fabulous february, which is skin love. it has different types of masks.

dewytree honey moist black mask-it's anti-microbial, soothing, helps elasticity and moisturizes. the packaging looks cool and i need some honey ones since my face is having a moment.

leaders ac dressing mask-soothes, helps inflammation/irritation and acne and pore appearance. this one sounds good too for my face and i've heard good things about leaders.

mizon enjoy vital-up calming mask-has propolis, hyaluronic acid, and trehalose to sooth and calm. propolis is like bee cement or caulk and trehalose is a sugar.

hanaka snail and black pearl mask-moisture and elasticity, 100% decomposable wood pulp. i haven't done a wood pulp mask, which sounds cool with the black pearl and snail in it.

hanaka cactus and hyaluronic acid mask-hydrate deeply for radiance and glow. my skin does need some glow and i like cacti.

nature republic royal jelly mask-hydrate, improve skin absorption, and moisturizes. i like the packaging on this one.

esfolio green tea mask-green ta detoxes, quince and catechin firm skin. my skin does need some detox after wearing makeup almost everyday.

somoon ampoule juice bear mask-honey, royal jelly extract, raspberry extract and blueberry help elasticity, help roughness and hydrate. royal jelly is baby bee food. this sounds exciting.

yeon live pack-replenish and energy. it says to massage on skin and leave for 15-20 mins, then rinse with cold water. i have no idea what's in this but this should be interesting to try out.

i do like the masks this month and the black masks are making my darkling side so happy. there's a lot of honey masks, which i do need because of my skin. there are also some ones i haven't seen or heard of before, like cactus and black pearl.

first fortune cookie soap spring box 2016

this is my first unboxing from fcs. i have bought products from them before but never had a box. i'm very happy with this theme, which is let it grow (the lorax).

in the green confetti, they have white flowers, which is cute for spring. they also have seeds in them, so you can plant these.

guardian of the forest-soap, it smells like light florals, not so much of the lemon.

this thing?-ocd sanitizer, green, it smells like a light floral creamsicle.

disco tree-whipped cream, i just smell berries, no lily or sandalwood.

unless-pedi-bomb, it smells like a hyacinth incense, not much oakmoss, dirt or algae.

oh hair-shampoo bar, it smells like peach gum, not much of grapefruit or thyme.

one c-cuticle oil, it smells like vanilla icing, nothing of patchouli. (how cute is the tiny vial?)

paradise found-petal perfume, it smells like rose, nothing of mangoes, amber, or strawberries.

in organic-shower steamer, i used this tonight and it didn't smell at all. it did have a light lemon scent, but it was too faint for the shower.

i'm happy with my first box and am excited to try out the scents. most of these products have a lot of good reviews. i might possibly get the summer box.
