mask maven august 2015 (my first subscription service)

if you had looked at my skin care haul, there's lots of sheet masks. i still do enjoy my clay and gel masks, but i'm prone to being called in for things, so thats not always ideal-especially when it's freshly applied. sheet masks come in handy on those days. it's also nice when it's blazing hot out to put on a cool mask from your fridge. so with sheet masks being awesome, i wanted to try a mask subscription. i had seen/read some reviews and this seemed nice and cheap for a first timer. most subscriptions are around $20-30 for just one month. i did sign up for a 3 month subscription and did use a 10% off code i found on one of the reviews.

now for masks:

snp troubled skin care essence sheet mask-this mask contains herbal extracts that will nourish the skin to heal and prevent troubled kin from breakouts. it also contains concentrated skin essence which will improve skin texture.
this sound nice for those monthly skin freakouts. i dont know what extracts are in it.

my beauty diary citrus firming aroma mask-this mask includes plant essence from hamamelis virginiana, lemon, and grapefruit which regulates the balance of oil content and hydration level of the skin. this will reduce the oily appearance of skin and keep it clean and clear.
this should be nice since my skin is oilier in summer with the heat.

 esfolis volcanic water essence mask sheet-this mask contains volcanic ash, an active mineral ingredient that will help the body resist and destroy bacteria, preventing you from breaking out.
this also seems nice for monthly freakouts and i do like volcanoes, so volcanic ash is the next best thing.

 beauty friends green tea sheet mask-green tea is rich in antioxidants which help to protect skin from free radicals. this mask will preserve your complexion and will help to condition your skin.
i haven't tried a green tea mask. i don't like the taste of green tea but maybe it will help my skin.

 beauty friends kiwi sheet mask-kiwi contains a lot of vitamin c which will help soothe rough and damaged skin. this will make skin smooth and soft while cleaning and moisturizing.
i do enjoy kiwi smells and moisture is a good thing for summer.

 face q luffa oil control sheet mask-enriched with natural luffa extract, the active enzymes in the mask will remove dirt and impurities from your skin which will enhance skin metabolism.
i looked up luffa, which is similar to a cucumber. i like the idea of enzymes nomming away at my skin like little pac man creatures.

 hanaka marigold oil control sheet mask-the ingredients in this mask include marigold and vitamin a which offer anti-acne, oil control, and anti-aging properties.
this sounds nice since it has multiple things going for it.

 pure derm strawberry yogurt mask pack-this mask contains vitamin e, collagen, strawberry extract, and yogurt extract which will soften and refresh your skin. it will also help remove impurities from your skin. use-clean and dry face, apply to face and massage evenly, after 5-10 minutes rinse off with water.
this sounds nice and i'm excited to smell it.

pure derm deep cleansing peeling gel x2-this peeling gel will deep clean pores, remove dead skin cells, and refine the surface of your skin. use-clean and dry face, apply and massage evenly, after 1 minute, rinse off with water.

this sounds good for a quick mask or after removing makeup. they included an extra, which was sweet of them.

you get a total of 10 masks, and an extra. which is nice for $18 (including shipping). i dont have many acne masks, which will be great to have. this is weird-but i like the korean writing, since not many korean products are sold where i live (except marshalls). this is a good subscription service is finding sheet masks are harder to find in your area, or if youre looking for interesting mask, but dont want to buy a bulk pack online.

this is for me being super pale and getting burned easily. i do have to wear it all the time. also skin cancer and looking like a piece of bacon at 80 doesn't sound good either.

these are good and cheap. great since i hate cooking and love chicken. the sauce is a little spicy, so keep a drink handy.

going along with tacos, this is delicious. its supposed to be lime and mountain dew. i don't know, i've never mixed lime with mine, but it's still good.

FAILS
|i broke my nails twice, which i had to cut down|
i barely have any nail over my finger, even after growing them for 1-1.5 weeks. i keep hitting them on things at work by accident and they crack or tear.

*maybe more favorites next month since i will have some skin care things tested.*

this wasn't all bought in a day. i did have my first trip to a marshalls, which was pretty neat.

they changed the packaging for these, so these were discounted. smells nice

it was between mango and coconut, which i'm not a huge fan of coconut. its a nice set to try out the body butters.

i looked inside and they are gold gel masks. theres a lot of serum floating in there.

i bought these after reading that it makes your foot peel. i think that sounds interesting/fascinating, being the weirdo i am.

i've been eager to try sheet masks, since my freeman ones can get a bit messy. my skin does need moisture since summer dries it out.

 spa life goats milk/olive oil masks $3.99
all of the masks with strange ingredients i'm interested in. goats milk sounds refreshing.

 spa life volcanic ash/coq10 masks $3.99
volcanic ash sounds good for acne, so these should be great for when my skin freaks out.

absolute cooling eye pads $2.99/each
i already have the cucumber ones from another brand, but the orange and kiwi sounded interesting. the aloe sounds good for when my eyes are bothering me from allergies.

*marshalls isn't that bad. i did find some candles i would want to get and some candle plates. they also had more masks, which i didn't want to go over board with.

it needed work that my other guy missed, which is nice to know now. i did save for it, thank god. but $600 is a lot for an inspection.

i have all of them in the lightest shade possible and yet some are dark/turning darker throughout the day. this is very noticeable since i am fair and it looks weird next to my pale as anything neck.

i use these to take makeup off at night and do like these. i bought the equate ones to try since they were cheaper.

tattoo gel stuff
this worked good to keep my tattoo from peeling/itching.

dr teals lavender bath salt/bath oil/body wash/foaming bath
i poured all of it into the tub and it smelled nice. it did have lots of bubbles. i have another scent, so i can't wait to try that.

urban decay original sample
i already liked this and wanted to use it up. 4-5 uses.

ud eden sample
i didn't like this, it was too yellow and it was too thick. i wouldn't buy it.

ud sin sample
i didn't like it since it was too thick and hard to blend out. won't be buying this.

ud anti-aging sample
i do like this. it works the same as the original formula. might buy in the future.

elf light beige concealer
this does work, but i have to find a lighter color. i have a few more of these and will use those up.

tarte lights camera lashes sample
i like this mascara. it works just as good as my maybelline falsies and wet n wild megalength.

hask coconut monoi oil hair mask
i liked this since it did make my hair soft. it didn't really help with frizz, but it was nice. i used it once a week. in this tiny packet i got 3 uses out of it. the packet isn't resealable so i opened it and emptied it into a small container.

travel dark kiss perfume
i love this scent and am pissed bath and body discontinued it. it smells amazing-raspberries. i have a full size and will hopefully find more to hoard.

travel size sea island cotton
it smells like fresh laundry, which isn't my favorite smell, but it doesn't smell bad.

travel size japanese cherry blossom
i like this scent too, and have a full size.

travel size carried away
it doesn't smell like raspberries like dark kiss or black raspberry vanilla. it does smell nice, might repurchase in the future.

nyx green primer
i liked this primer. it didn't really tone down my redness, but my makeup lasted. i have the purple one to try next.

jack black moisturizer
i didn't know it had 2 uses in this tiny thing so when i first applied it, it took forever to sink in. it felt nice and didn't affect my makeup. the second time i tried it, it also took a while to sink in. it's a pricey moisturizer, so i wouldn't purchase this. it also has a man after shave smell to it, probably a man product.

aveeno daily moisturizer
i depotted this a while ago since the pump didn't work. i've had this forever and used it on my face mostly, and sometimes on my legs/arms. i have a new one waiting for me.

hask macadamia hair mask
this was nice and made my hair softer. it smelled like white chocolate. i would get this again.
